There will be a process of public engagement about the design of the Teignmouth Health and Wellbeing Centre from 8-21 January as part of the planning process. Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust has set up a dedicated website to do this:

This is what they say:

“As you will be aware, the NHS is planning to modernise health services in Teignmouth to provide integrated, sustainable and easy to access services for the people of Teignmouth and surrounding area.  A key part of this is to bring together the largest GP practice (Channel View Medical Group) with the clinics that are regularly used by local people, the health and wellbeing team and voluntary sector – all in a new, modern, state of the art Health and Wellbeing Centre on the Brunswick Street site at the heart of Teignmouth.

We have developed the detailed designs for the new centre and are now ready to begin to formalise the application for planning permission. As part of the planning application process, we are engaging with local people on the design of the building. We would normally do this face-to-face, but clearly this is not possible at this time. Therefore, we have developed a website that showcases the plans so that people can find out more about the building, its location and the detailed design. There is also a facility on the website for people to let us have their thoughts and any comments on the design. We will be launching this website on Friday 8 January and will need to receive all feedback by 21 January, so that it can be included in the planning process.

We will be communicating the engagement via local news media, social media, our website and asking our partners to communicate to their stakeholders as well. We will also have some posters on the site boundaries and writing to the immediate neighbours.”
